Degree: Master (Mestrado)

Entry Requirements:
a) Holders of the degree of bachelor or legal equivalent in the areas of computer science, computer engineering, and related areas;
b) Holders of a higher academic degree abroad conferred in the areas listed above and following a first cycle of studies organised in accordance with the Bologna process by a state adhering to this process;
c) Holders of a higher academic degree abroad in the areas listed above which is recognized as satisfying the objectives of the degree of graduated by the scientific statutorily competent bodies of the proposing entities;
d) Holders of an academic and/or professional curriculum, which is recognized as attesting the ability to carry out the master's degree by the scientific statutorily competent bodies of the proposing entities.


Language of Instruction: Portuguese.

Teaching Mode: Online open distance learning mode based on e-learning platform, with face-to-face sessions.

Goals / Employment: The master's degree in computer graphics aims to train professionals with solid basic training and skills in computer graphics, in order to meet the needs of application software development in this area and related subareas, intending to encourage innovation and autolearning.
These professionals should therefore be able to analyze and accurately understand the problems of organizations in the area of computer graphics, being able to develop specialized solutions to the implementation of each operation, the modeling of Virtual environments and lighting phenomena, the graphic modelling and procedures,, the computer animation and computer vision, the human-computer interaction or the temporal and spatial complexity, as well as the adequacy of the final results, taking into account the human factors involved, among others.
The Master in computer graphics will be able to assume functions of project direction of research, development and technological intervention in the industry, organizations and companies exploring rigorously and effectively innovative solutions of the area of Computer graphics.


Acess to Further Studies: The degree of Master in computer graphics is certified by a masterful letter and assumes the frequency and approval of the entire curricular units that constitute the course, the elaboration of an original dissertation specially written for this purpose, its Discussion, defense and approval in public trials.
The student who completes the curricular part has access to a graduate certificate.
The Master degree gives access to higher level 3º cycle level courses.

Curricular Structure and Credits: The curricular structure of the master's computer graphics is designed to function as a 2nd cycle of higher training conducive to the master's degree.
The master's course includes three school semesters that constitute a specialization in computer graphics, corresponding to 90 credits ECTS (European credit Transfer System).
In the 1st semester of the 1st year, the student has 30 ECTS credits of compulsory achievement.
In the second semester of the first year and in the first semester of the second year, the student has 18 ects, of mandatory achievement, and 12 ects, of optional realization (in each semester).
The second semester of the second year of the master's course is reserved for the preparation of a dissertation corresponding to 30 ECTS credits.
In the total of the two curricular years, the master's course corresponds to 120 ECTS credits and allows to confer the master's degree in computer graphics.
The opening of optional curricular units is determined annually.
