Course Description:
Christianity, emerged in Judea with the preaching of the Jewish prophet Jesus of Nazareth, penetrated the Roman Empire and delivered its message to barbarian Europe. In the following centuries (I-XV centuries), however facing external persecutions and internal struggles of different kinds, it consolidated and expanded. In modern times (XVI-XVIII centuries) its contours become even more defined and stressed. In contemporary centuries (XIX-XXI) the efforts to unite all Christians and the expectations raised by the recent establishment of inter-religious dialogue are, among others, aspects that also mark the history of Christianity and for that they deserve to be analysed.
