Course Description:
In a library documents follow a path during which they are subjected to different technical procedures. This course unit intends to provide suitable knowledge for mastering documental languages basic concepts, distinguishing documents whatever their nature or support may be, identifying docuemntal chains, knowing and applying different processing techniques. It pays special attention to the cataloging of printed resources.

Assessment:
Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 or 3 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a presence-based final exam (p-folio) in the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final presence-based exam (100%).


Comments:
Students are recommended to attend to Analysis and Documental Languages course units respecting their sequence, thus allowing a gradual deepening of the subject and a safer approach to new contents.
