Course Description:
In this course unit students are intoduced to research processes specific to Education and provided with fundamental tools suitable for developing research procedures. The research track in Social Sciences concerning Education issues will be thoroughly analysed: major paradigms, various methods and techniques.

In the end, students are expected to be able to:
• identify and distinguish different stages within an educational research project,
• understand the differences between research methods and techniques,
• organise analytically research data,
• develop the capacity to adapt research objectives to the population being studied - the specific case of researching with children.

Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 or 3 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a presence-based final exam (p-folio) in the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final presence-based exam (100%).
