Course Description:
It aims at building a research and development-intervention project specific in computer art, giving special emphasis to graphic and audiovisual expression, to implement preferably in contexts of real experimentation and whose final product will materialize in a master dissertation. It must configure the identification of new problems and raise, in the conceptual and praxeological plan, the search for creative responses adjusted to the contexts of intervention.


Competences:
Upon completion of this learning unit, the student should be able to:
- Critically analyze the contexts of development-intervention in computer art with special emphasis on graphic and audiovisual expression;
- Design, implement and evaluate a research and development-intervention project  in computer art;
- Write critical documentation about the project developed, incorporating all the elements produced in a final dissertation.


Contents:
The diversity of the intervention contexts where it is expected the work of the dissertation will take place, recommended the opening of the programmatic topics that will be defining as the student progresses in his master project. There are, however, some topics that should be contemplated:
- Observation and analysis of contexts of research-action, target audiences and domains of intervention in digital computer art with special emphasis on graphic and audiovisual expression;
- Study of methodologies and strategies for requirements analysis, design and implementation of solutions in ccomputer art, in contexts of use, experimentation and social intervention;
- Operationalization of methodologies and strategies for research and development in computer art (project design, data collection and analysis, evaluation, reflection ...);
- Writing of academic, scientific and artistic texts.

Evaluation is made on individual basis and it involves the coexistence of two modes: continuous assessment (60%) and final evaluation (40%). Further information is detailed in the Learning Agreement of the course unit.
