Course Description:
This course unit develops around knowledge building in the area of Humanities. Its main objective is the acquisition of the necessary competences in the fields of research and academic works, namely dissertations.
The course focuses on the crucial aspects, phases and ways of methodology.


Competences:
• Capacity of: research work; resources utilisation; object of study delimitation; research and object of study specific and adequate norms.
• Capacity of autonomy in the process of research and information retrieval, leading to the subsequent writing process according to formally correct and adequate criteria.

• Scientific knowledge.
• Scientific method in Humanities.
• Types of scientific work.
• Selection and research of bibliographical resources.
• Organisation and presentation of academic works.
• Choice of adequate criteria and norms; importance of criteria/norms consistency.
• The writing process.
