Degree: Master (Mestrado)

Entry Requirements:

Candidates are required to meet one of the following pre-requisites:
a) a licenciatura or any other legally equivalent certificate;
b) a BA obtained in a foreign university as long as the program is organized in accordance with the principles of Bologna and the country has agreed to that process;
c) a foreign academic degree approved, by the Scientific Council, as being in accordance with the licenciatura degree aims;
d) an academic curriculum, scientific or professional, that the Scientific Council has approved stating the capacity of the candidate to follow this study cycle.
It is also required: basic digital literacy and a personal computer with Internet access.
The programme will begin with a face-to-face session to be held at the headquartes of Universidade Aberta (Rua da Escola Politécnica, nº 147, Lisboa).

Language of Instruction: Portuguese.

Teaching Mode: Mixed learning: online with some face-to-face sessions.

Goals / Employment:

This Degree is specially aimed at teachers, future teachers or people developing or intending to develop activities within learning institutions, either within the national education system or in private institutions (like school managers, for instance).

Acess to Further Studies: 3rd cycle studies.

Curricular Structure and Credits:

The degree takes to 2 years and amounts to 120 ECTS:
• 1st year - curricular component structured in 2 semesters (60 ECTS) in which students must achieve 9 compulsory course units a 1 optional course unit;
• 2nd year - dissertation (60 ECTS).
Each ECTS credit unit corresponds to 26 hours of study. So, the annual workload is estimated to be 1560 hours.
