Degree: Master (Mestrado)

Entry Requirements:

Candidates are required to meet one of the following pre-requisites:
a) a licenciatura or any other legally equivalent certificate;
b) a BA obtained in a foreign university as long as the program is organized in accordance with the principles of Bologna and the country has agreed to that process;
c) a foreign academic degree approved, by the Scientific Council, as being in accordance with the licenciatura degree aims;
d) an academic curriculum, scientific or professional, that the Scientific Council has approved stating the capacity of the candidate to follow this study cycle.
Other important pre-requisites:
a) 1st cycle studies in Human and Social Sciences (namely in History, Literature and Linguistics);
b) research on Human and Social Sciences;
c) History, Language and Literature teaching activities;
d) professional interest in Portuguese Culture.

Language of Instruction: Portuguese.

Teaching Mode: Virtual classroom completely online.

Goals / Employment:

Qualification in areas where the multidisciplinary formation in Portuguese Studies is a key asset to reach certain professions or improve the work performance in:
• Basic Education (2nd and 3rd cycles) and Secondary Education, in History, Literature and Portuguese teaching;
• Promoting Portuguese Language, Culture and History, in local, national and international institutions;
• Scientific Research in History, Literature and Linguistics.

Acess to Further Studies:

3rd cycle programs in Portuguese Studies or similar.

1st year (curricular component): 60 ECTS,
2nd year (dissertation): 60 ECTS.
