Degree: Master (Mestrado)

Entry Requirements:

Candidates are required to meet one of the following pre-requisites:
a) a BA or any other legally equivalent certificate;
b) a BA obtained in a foreign university as long as the program is organized in accordance with the principles of Bologna and the country has agreed to that
c) a foreign academic degree approved, by the Scientific Council, as being in accordance with the BA degree aims;
d) an academic curriculum, scientific or professional, that the Scientific Council has approved stating the capacity of the candidate to follow this study cycle.

Besides the previous pre-requisites, the following are also preferable conditions for admittance to this degree:
- Candidates with core qualifications in Management, Economics, Sociology, Engineering;
- Professional experience within company management and informatics.

Language of Instruction: Portuguese.

Teaching Mode: E-learning.

Goals / Employment:

The master degree in Management/MBA aims at providing a specialized training for the following specific competencies:
a) To apply knowledge and to solve problems in new settings, even if they are presented in enlarged and multidisciplinary contexts, related to its area of study;
b) To integrate knowledge, work with issues of complex nature, to develop solutions under scarce information, including the reflection and assessment of the implications
resulting from those solutions;
c) To communicate conclusions, knowledge and analysis, in a clear and objective way, as to specialists as to nonspecialists;
c) Capacity to conduct scientific research within Management.

The masters makes it possible to standardize final knowledge, making it possible to several professionals:
• Upper management staff in public and private companies.
• Directors and upper staff of Public Administration.
• university professors

Curricular Structure and Credits:


The course lasts for four semesters (24 months) and it includes a curricular component and the development of an original scientific dissertation. The first and second semesters are composed of eight course units (60 ECTS). In the third and fourth semesters students are required to achieve the dissertation (60 ECTS).
