It begins by discussing the fundamental concepts and principles of EIA, then presents the EIA system, referring to the EIA process, the main entities involved and the main products. It is given special emphasis to the importance of public participation throughout the process and how it should be matched. It also refers to the points that should be considered in EIA planning and management and develop different methods that can be applied in both the EIA scoping and identification of impacts, and in predicting impacts, impact assessment, comparison of alternatives and mitigation.
