Course Description:
This curricular unit aims to recognise the importance of computer security in the current context of the information society, to dominate the central concepts related to the safe transmission of data, in addition to architecting and implementing efficient mechanisms to cope with the Main threats to computer network security.


Competences:
Recognize the importance of computer security in the current context of the information society;
Mastering the main concepts related to the secure transmission of data;
Architect and implement effective mechanisms for dealing with the main threats to the security of computer networks.

Assessment:
Continuous assessment is privileged: 2 or 3 digital written documents (e-folios) during the semester (40%) and a presence-based final exam (p-folio) in the end of the semester (60%). In due time, students can alternatively choose to perform one final presence-based exam (100%).
